ORBIS is a comprehensive, global database that contains company information on more than 480 million companies (inclusive Amadeus database) in a standardised format. It includes e.g. address and contact data but also financial strength indicators and ownership data.
The Orbis Web access allows you to use the database through the proprietary web platform. This access is particularly recommended for doing basic research and moderate data downloading of financial data or ownership data. You can either search for additional ratios or create your own. The module for analysis offers segmentation, peer-analysis and several statistical computation methods. The access is provided by the following link:

Please bear in mind that you can only use Orbis web with an edu-ID. In order to access you need to link your edu-ID to your HSG account. If you haven’t done so yet: https://eduidlinking.unisg.ch/. You will then land in your personal ORBIS space.
The Orbis DataHub allows you to perform bigger data downloads. In order to use this access, please write to searchandfind@unisg.ch. The setup will take around 2-3 days. You will receive a welcome E-Mail with information regarding registration directly from Moody’s. In case you do not see this mail in your inbox after three days, please check the spam folder.
