DealScan is Loan Pricing Corporation’s historical database containing information on over 200’000 global loans, high-yield bonds and private placements dating back to the mid-1980’s.
It is “the world’s pre-eminent source for extensive and reliable information on the global commercial loan market”. Besides basically providing loans data, it also includes contract information for high yield bonds, private placements and hybrid financial structures. DealScan data is compiled from SEC filings and public documents, loan syndicators as well as other internal sources.
From the August 2021 update, DealScan revamped its database structure and revised its contents. Therefore, WRDS launched a new DealScan database while still providing access to the previous legacy database.
