MSCI ESG Manager is a product of MSCI (formerly Morgan Stanley Capital International and MSCI Barra), a U.S. financial services company headquartered in New York City that provides financial services, particularly for investment banking.

We offer access to the following MSCI ESG data:

  • MSCI ESG Ratings for Equities and Corporate Credit
  • MSCI ESG Ratings for Government
  • MSCI ESG Ratings for Funds
  • MSCI ESG Controversies and Global Norms Screening
  • MSCI ESG BISR Individual Screen
  • MSCI ESG Ratings Time-Series Equities
  • MSCI ESG Controversies Time-Series
  • MSCI ESG Fund Metrics Time-Series
  • MSCI Sustainable Impact Metrics and SDG Alignment Historical Data
  • MSCI ESG Government Time-Series

Members of University of St.Gallen can access MSCI ESG data as flat files in Excel format. Sign in with your HSG account on https://msci.unisg.ch.

The data files are updated monthly.

For student access, we can provide 10 generic accounts that give access to MSCI ESG Manager. You can find the credentials for these accounts on this protected page.

Please take note:

  • these 10 credentials will be updated every three months, at the end of January / April / July / October.
  • API Access is not available to student accounts.

Unfortunately, MSCI isn’t offering a license with unlimited access. We only have 20 personal accounts available for faculty and research. We will hand out these licenses for a period of 12 months. If all available licenses are in use, there will be a waiting list.

This access to MSCI data is exclusively open to active members of the University of St.Gallen. The Terms of Use only allow for personal, non-commercial use in context of studying, teaching or research at HSG.

Login credentials for Student Access cannot be shared with Third Parties outside of HSG. Login credentials for Faculty Access may not be shared either. Sharing downloaded data with Third Parties outside of HSG is also not allowed.
