PsycINFO (previously: PsycLIT) is produced by the American Psychological Association (APA) and records bibliographically independent as well as components of bibliographically independent works (journal articles, books, book chapters, book meetings, monographs, research reports, case studies, etc.) on psychology. Publications in the areas of psychiatry, sociology, educational sciences, anthropology, pharmacology, physiology, criminology and linguistics are taken into account if they are of interest for psychology. Some 2,500 journals are covered. Overall, PsycINFO provides around 60,000 new entries per year with weekly updates.
