Researchers at the University of St.Gallen enjoy great freedom in carrying out their activities in research and teaching. Academic freedom guarantees that academic research and teaching can be conducted free of external constraints.
Academic freedom also entails specific obligations and responsibilities. These concern, on the one hand, the rules of good scientific practice and, on the other hand, the principles of ethically responsible research. The Competence Center for Scientific Integrity and Research Ethics supports HSG researchers in the implementation of ethical responsibilities in their academic activities.
