Bloomberg

(Bloomberg)

The Bloomberg database offers financial data: real-time prices, fundamental data, graphical applications, financial-analysis tools and news from their own news agency and other providers.
The access and the use of the Bloomberg database at HSG is only possible and allowed for members of the University of St.Gallen. Terminal reservations cannot be made.

Near the Search and Find desk in the library you will have access to five Bloomberg Terminals. To start the computer, you can log in with your HSG e-mail address and password. You can find an icon to start the programme right on the desktop. You will need your mobile phone at hand because the validation code necessary for finishing the registration is sent to your mobile number (SMS).

Location of Bloomberg terminals in the library

The access and the use of the Bloomberg database at HSG is only possible and allowed for members of the University of St.Gallen. Terminal reservations cannot be made.

Please pay attention that data download is limited. Daily and monthly download limits restrict data download. Unfortunately, users are not able to verify how much data has yet been downloaded at a specific point in time. If a limit has been achieved, please try again at another Bloomberg PC or on another day, respectively.

In order to alleviate the limit problems Bloomberg recommends to use Bloomberg Query Language (BQL).

Bloomberg Query Language (BQL) allows to download the data in a more efficient way compared to conventional requests by means of BDP and BDH formulae. By doing so, much less data capacities will be stressed by each request than with BDP and BDH, respectively. Please use this option in the interest of all Bloomberg users at HSG. Thank you very much!

You find more details on Bloomberg Query Language (BQL) in the BQL FactSheet.
