The "Top 100 Swiss Startup Award 2023" honoured several start-ups by HSG alumni on 6 September. The foodtech company Planted and the fintech company Yokoy took second and third place on the list. Planted produces vegan meat substitutes from natural ingredients and Yokoy relies on artificial intelligence to automate the process for corporate expenses. Melanie Gabriel from Yokoy was named "HSG Founder of the Year 2023" at this year's START Summit. Both startups carry the official HSG spin-off label, which has now been awarded to 174 startups.

Another HSG spin-off is Decentriq (45th place). Decentriq develops so-called data clean rooms in which companies or authorities can store data securely in a cloud and make it available to others for analysis and research purposes.

Top 100 Swiss Startup Award

The "Top 100 Swiss Startup Award" has become one of the most respected awards in the Swiss startup scene: The award focuses on young companies from the deeptech sector - i.e. startups that develop innovative technical solutions. The award has developed into an important meeting place for investors and founders. So far, the 438 Swiss deeptech startups that have won awards have created 11,100 jobs and raised CHF 6.1 billion. There were 56 so-called "exits" and three IPOs. The 13th edition of the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Awards was organised by Venturelab in collaboration with the presenting partners Credit Suisse and the Swiss Venture Club.

Four other start-ups with a strong HSG connection were also honoured at the 2023 Award: Carvolution (4th place), Rready (52nd place), PastaHR (77th place) and Gossik (90th place).
