HSG Alumni, together with the Student Union, invited former students to return to the campus of their alma mater under the motto "Back to the Future". The extraordinary connection of its (former) students has always been a hallmark of HSG.
The HSG Community Festival was held for the first time to mark the 125th anniversary of the University of St.Gallen. The festival focused on the topics "Think Tank", "Business & Start-Ups" and "Communities". These were brought to life through interactive themed exhibitions, inspiring lectures and an entertaining supporting programme. The approximately 1,000 visitors enjoyed the programme and exchanged ideas with fellow students and new acquaintances.
A highlight of the festival was the raffle, where tickets were sold throughout the day to raise funds for the St.Gallen Collegium.
The raffle offered visitors the opportunity to win attractive prizes and support a worthy cause at the same time. The generosity of the festival participants was impressive: around 20,000 Swiss francs flowed into the St.Gallen Collegium anniversary project through raffle ticket sales and pledge cards filled out at the White Dinner.
Urs Landolf, former President of HSG Alumni, Honorary Senator of the University of St.Gallen and Delegate of the Board of Trustees of the HSG Foundation had the pleasure of accepting the 1st HSG Alumni Engagement Award, which is presented for outstanding services rendered by individuals to and around the University of St.Gallen. He decided to add CHF 7,500 to the prize money and donate a total of CHF 12,500 to the St.Gallen Collegium. To date, over 300 alumnae and alumni have already supported the realisation of the St.Gallen Collegium with their donation.
With the St.Gallen Collegium, the HSG aims to develop solutions to the most pressing questions of our time. Starting in 2025, outstanding personalities and researchers from all over the world will come together in St.Gallen and, in exchange with personalities from business and society, jointly develop approaches to solutions for major social problems.
