2003: Introduction of 'Children's University'

In the winter semester 2003-04, the University of St.Gallen became the first Swiss university to launch the Children's University lecture series. The aim is to give children an understanding of socially relevant topics in addition to what they are learning at school. The lectures mainly cover topics relevant to HSG's core subjects, i.e. Business administration, Economics and Law, but they make use of everyday situations and examples from the children's environment, and the lectures are usually aimed at third- to sixth-grade pupils. The first lecture, in 2003, dealt with the question 'Where does money come from?'
