Entrepreneurship 101 mit bloem: Pre-Seed-Phase

Sophia Haas has a clear vision: to digitise the physical flea market. In this first episode of a special podcast series, the founder of bloem gives an insight into her start-up journey. She talks about the creation of bloem - a digital platform that aims to revolutionise the resale of unworn clothes by creating a seamless connection between physical and virtual marketplaces.

The conversation focuses on the challenges of the second-hand market, where inefficiencies make the selling process difficult for people who want to clear out their wardrobes. Sophia emphasises her passion for sustainability in the fashion industry and her goal of providing a user-friendly solution that promotes clothing recycling and reduces waste. This is entirely in line with the circular economy approach, which makes it a highly topical issue.

Sophia receives support from the «Entrepreneurial Talents Program» (ETP) at the University of St.Gallen. The passionate founder talks about her motivation for joining the programme, with access to knowledge and a mentoring relationship being key factors. Her mentor, Dr Bernd Schneider, shares his view of the entrepreneurial process, emphasises the importance of support structures for start-ups and highlights bloem's potential for the fashion industry.

The foundations for bloem have been laid, the pre-seed phase is almost complete and nothing stands in the way of the start-up's successful development – or does it? We will follow the process in future episodes. Stay tuned!
