Science and art seem to be two separate disciplines. Yet they used to be more closely linked. Leonardo da Vinci was famous for both his artistic and scientific work and was not an isolated case as a polymath. Today, artists often also deal with the intersections between science and society. At the HSG, too, many researchers are also intensively involved with art. Our special focus "Art and Science" introduces HSG researchers in their role as creators of art. Thrillers, music, pictures and folklore are not only created to compensate for being a scientist, but often to complement it.
