BIB & IT Service Point

The BIB & IT Service Point is located in the central alcove A 09-023 in the library building, directly opposite the library entrance. Here, members of the University of St.Gallen can borrow, pick up or return various items during the building's opening hours:

All HSG members:

• Same-day loan of gadgets such as charging cables, calculators, or power strips
• Pickup of reserved library media

Staff only:

• HSG-IT work materials

Only members of the University of St.Gallen with a valid HSGcard can use the BIB & IT Service Point.

Requirements for using the Library's services:

• Library account, with valid link to your HSG account
• HSGcard number stored in your library account (Students: Matriculation number without dashes; Staff: Card number 6299 12...)

Please note:
After the initial registration or any update to your number, you will not be able to borrow items from the BIB Service Point until the next day.

Only University of St.Gallen staff can use the IT services.

• Return by the time the building closes on the same day
• Return at the BIB Service Point kiosk
• Standard lending regulations for one-day loans apply, including late fees.

1. Log in with your HSGcard
2. Select a gadget
3. Remove the item
4. Close the compartment
5. Scan the barcode on the pouch using the left-hand scanner
6. Return the item on the same day at the BIB Service Point using the same process

If you would like to pick up reserved media or courier orders outside of our service hours, you can use the link in the pickup invitation you receive via email to arrange collection at the BIB Service Point.

We will issue the item to your library account and then stock the kiosk before the circulation desk closes.
Use your HSGcard to log in at the BIB Service Point and retrieve the items from the appropriate compartment. You can then return the items in the usual way: via the return box in front of the library building, the return slot in front of the library entrance, or, directly at our circulation desk.
