HSG awards 42 excellence scholarships

The University of St.Gallen has awarded 42 scholarships for excellence worth over CHF 450,000. The recipients come from 15 countries. They were honoured for exceptional academic achievements and extra-academic commitment.

The University of St.Gallen (HSG) awards various scholarships to high-achieving students. These scholarships help the HSG to support particularly talented and/or committed students in their studies.

There are four such scholarships at HSG under the generic term ‘Excellence Scholarships’. Three of them are financed by foundations. These are the St.Gallen Foundation for International Studies, the Monique Dornonville de la Cour Foundation and the Starr International Foundation. The foundations promote education, international exchange and young talent in accordance with their foundation purposes. The awarded scholarships cover the tuition fees for the standard period of study for the award winners.

The scholarships were given out to the students on 27 May during a meeting of the HSG Senate. The following 42 scholarships were paid out for the 2023 / 2024 cohort

- 7 foreign Bachelor students with the HSG Excellence Scholarship for Bachelor students
- 1 foreign Bachelor's student with the HSG St.Gallen Symposium Excellence Scholarship
- 16 Swiss Bachelor students and 1 Swiss Master student with the HSG Monique Dornonville de la Cour - Foundation Scholarship
- 17 foreign Master's students with the HSG Starr International Foundation Scholarship

Details of the recipients of the Excellence Scholarships can be found in the corresponding flyer.

In addition to the scholarships mentioned here, HSG awards various other scholarships to outstanding students, such as the Capstone Project Awards, the MBF Fellowships or the Bachelor's/Master's Thesis/GPA Graduation Awards. There are also scholarships that are awarded to students in financial need. In 2023, CHF 1.1 million was paid out in the form of scholarships, loans and tuition fee waivers.
