The CEMS Master in International Management (CEMS MIM) is thus ranked amongst the world’s top management programmes for the second year running. Compared with the previous year, the overall score improved from 92.7 to 95.2 points. In all five assessed areas, the programme scores well above the global average.
The programme ranks above the global average in all five indicator groups. The scores are particularly high for value for money, at 99.4 points, and for thought leadership, at 92.7 points. Of the most recent graduates, 98 per cent are in employment or are continuing their degree courses, degrees, or academic programmes. 95 per cent have worked outside their home country, while 76 per cent are employed by multinational companies.
The University of St.Gallen has been a member of CEMS since 1989, a global network comprising 33 business schools across six continents. More than 70 corporate partners and eight social partners support the programme. Over 1,100 graduates join the ranks each year.
“This renewed top ranking confirms the particular strength of the CEMS model: we combine academic excellence with international experience, close collaboration with businesses and a strong focus on values. This is not just about academic achievement, but equally about respect and empathy in dealing with cultural diversity, as well as professional responsibility towards society. Another key factor in our success in St.Gallen is our excellent programme management. Our students receive individual guidance and targeted support throughout the entire programme. This personalised support helps them to develop not only academically but also personally, and to truly embody the CEMS values in an international setting,” says Prof. Dr Andreas Wittmer, academic director of the CEMS Master in International Management at the University of St.Gallen.
The CEMS model brings together academic education and international business practice. Professors from leading universities impart scientifically sound knowledge. Partner companies contribute practical tasks and operational experience. A joint curriculum links the universities together.
Students not only acquire management knowledge but also are given the opportunity to put it into practice straight away. This programme requires that student partake in degree courses at no fewer than two universities in the hope that it will provide them with a unique cultural perspective. 51 per cent of current graduates have worked with a CEMS corporate or social partner. In total, the alumni network comprises more than 22,800 people.
“We are delighted that we have maintained our position in the global QS ranking while also improving our overall score. Above all, this result is a collective achievement, built on nearly four decades of collaboration and shared experiences between our member universities and corporate partners,” says Nicole de Fontaines, executive director of CEMS. “It reaffirms our belief in the CEMS model while reminding us to continue learning and evolving alongside a changing world.”
The QS Master’s in Management Ranking 2027 assesses programmes across five indicator groups: value for money, thought leadership, employability, alumni career success and diversity. The CEMS MIM scores above the global average in all groups.
