University of St.Gallen Master's in Strategy and International Management ranked #1

On 7 September 2026, the global ranking of Masters in Management programmes was published by the Financial Times and placed the University of St.Gallen’s (HSG) Master in Strategy and International Management programme (SIM-HSG) in the top position for a record-setting fifteenth time.

"We put the question of purpose and values at the core while installing in the students the business acumen that they need as effective leaders. With this skill set, and a global perspective, they will be prepared to start their journey towards a purposeful career," said SIM-HSG Managing Director Dr Joachim Stonig.

The Financial Times Master’s in Management ranking compiles data based on their survey of business schools and their alumni. Sorting through and weighing different criteria such as career outcomes, diversity, ESG and sustainability, aims achieved and career services, the FT ranking provides an annual analysis of Master programmes and sets the benchmark for academic excellence worldwide.

SIM offers a holistic management education that combines academic rigour with practical experience and a strong emphasis on personal growth. The SIM programme attracts ambitious students with a global mindset, a commitment to responsible leadership, and an entrepreneurial spirit. By maintaining the #1 position in the 2026 rankings, the SIM programme outperformed more than 100 other international higher education establishments and universities offering Master’s in Management programmes internationally. Nova School of Business and Economics was ranked in second place and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Antai was third.
