In addition to the previously announced one-year "Global Sustainability Management" (GSM) programme, the "Joint Programme in Digital Transformation" (DTX) is also being launched.

Strategic alignment and European excellence

Both of these additional programmes contribute to HSG’s aim of developing responsible and entrepreneurial leaders.

“We are offering our students an international additional qualification in two key areas,” explains Prof. Dr Manuel Ammann, president of the University of St.Gallen (HSG). “At the same time, we are enhancing HSG’s visibility in Europe by actively contributing our own teaching modules to the joint curriculum within the Digital Transformation certificate programme.”

Two European programmes

  • Global Sustainability Management Programme (GSM): The one-year certificate programme (60 ECTS) begins in the autumn semester of 2027. It prepares students for environmental and societal transformation processes through practical formats such as boot camps and project labs.
  • Joint Programme in Digital Transformation (DTX): The one-semester supplementary certificate (20 ECTS, spring semester 2027) covers topics such as AI, regulation, ethics and platform strategies. It combines three international online block courses with a one-week summer seminar, during which students put their theoretical knowledge into practice through case studies with partners from the realm of working life.

Added value for the alliance and the university

Sabine Sainte-Rose, general secretary of the ENGAGE.EU university alliance: “HSG brings excellent expertise in management and technology to our alliance. Through the GSM and the Digital Transformation Programme, we are pooling the knowledge of leading European institutions to specifically train students to become change-makers for sustainable and digital transformation.”

For HSG, participation in both programmes represents a targeted expansion of its academic portfolio whilst ensuring focused use of resources.
