Our holistic teaching and learning approach integrates topics related to responsibility and sustainability both through specialised formats and by incorporating them into existing curricular and co-curricular offerings.
Over the past year, HSG continued to strengthen its holistic approach to future-oriented education, equipping students with the skills needed to become responsible and entrepreneurial leaders. As part of the Teach for Sustainable Futures initiative, the University hosted workshops with renowned scholars Professor Edward Freeman (University of Virginia) and Professor Andrew Hoffman (University of Michigan) on the topics of responsible leadership and the future of business education. HSG’s course portfolio included innovative teaching formats, such as a Positive Futures workshop, a Tango Laboratory workshop, or the Sustainable Investment Challenge, all using experiential and participatory pedagogies to make sustainability tangible. Through Service Learning and project-based courses, students worked on real-life challenges with partners ranging from the City of St.Gallen to Malawi and São Paulo. Furthermore, student engagement was strengthened through the newly launched NextGen Impact Forum, a platform for connection, collaboration, and co-creation on sustainability and values-driven entrepreneurship.
