Thanks to our practice orientation and focus on impact, we are able to make a valuable contribution to society. Through strong entrepreneurial engagement within the HSG ecosystem, we develop concrete solutions to sustainability challenges. Members of our university are also involved in a variety of knowledge exchange activities with society.
More than half of the companies that were awarded the HSG Startup or Spinoff Label in 2025 focus their business activities on solving sustainability problems, offering real solutions to concrete sustainability challenges. The expertise of HSG researchers is also in high demand. They were quoted in several hundred media articles, providing context for current events and sustainability discussions. The public discourse is also actively shaped by the diverse community of HSG alumni. For example, four HSG alumni have been named Sustainable Shapers 2025 by the NZZ newspaper for their work. With the 2025 launch of the St.Gallen Transformation Lab, a new initiative fostering regional innovation and sustainability through cross-sector collaboration, HSG further enhanced its regional engagement. The Lab has already conducted first projects in the region, including a Studierenden-WIRKstatt, and is currently planning a Future Festival in St.Gallen.
