Funding by the Committee for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The Committee for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EC) supports projects by HSG employees, lecturers, researchers and students who are committed to promoting diversity, equality and inclusion at the University. The EC awards grants of between CHF 1,000 and CHF 3,000 for this purpose.

Here you will find the most important information on funding criteria, application procedures and contact persons.

Funding is available for initiatives that:

  • strengthen an inclusive culture at the HSG;
  • promote exchange and discussion on DEI topics;
  • improve communication, networking and the sense of belonging, especially among underrepresented groups.

Examples include Pride Month, networking lunches, mentoring programmes for women or international students, student clubs with a focus on DEI, or training courses for minority groups.

All HSG members and associations.

  • Funding amounts between CHF 1,000 and CHF 3,000 are typical.
  • In exceptional cases, up to CHF 5,000 may be approved.
  • The number of projects supported is limited.
  • Salaries cannot be financed.
  1. Fill out the form and send it to the EC’s Secretary (verena.witzigunisg.ch) and the EC President (anastasia.kartashevaunisg.ch).
  2. Applications can be submitted in German or English (English is recommended).
  3. The deadline for submissions is 1 October. Earlier submissions are welcome.
  4. Decisions on applications will be made at the first meeting in the autumn semester.
  5. Applicants will present their projects to the EC in person (invitation to follow).

We recommend that applicants contact the EC’s Secretary in advance to increase the chances of a successful application.

  • The EC may impose conditions for funding
  • Acceptance or rejection will be communicated by email within three days
  • If conditions are imposed, applicants must respond within five working days to indicate whether they agree
  • Contact the EC’s Secretary for payment (only to Swiss bank accounts, no cash payments).
  • Contact the Diversity, Equality & Inclusion office via the EC’s Secretary to discuss the implementation of the application.
  • Please inform yourself of and comply with University guidelines (Communication & Brand Office, General Secretariat).
  • Within two months: Submit a short report including:
    • financial overview
    • description of activities
    • critical reflection
  • The report (max. 5 pages) can be submitted as a PDF file.
  • Any unused funding must be repaid (exceptions possible by arrangement).
