Inclusive Language Guide

The attached guides explain the importance of inclusive language and provide practical advice on how best to use equitable and gender-inclusive language. The HSG guide, which you will find in German, has been prepared based on the University's Vision and Code of Conduct and in collaboration with HSG staff and students.

APA Style and Grammar Guidelines – Bias Free Language

APA is the international citation standard in the social sciences and economics. Its motto is “Write with Clarity, Precision, and Inclusion.” Its guidelines on inclusive and respectful language, and on doing justice to all types of diversity, are set out on the APAwebsite and in Chapter 5 of the 7th edition of the APA Manual.
