Our Master's Program in "Law and Economics (MLE)" comprises 90 credits and is designed to be completed in 3 semesters.
Interdisciplinary Master’s Program
The MLE program is an interdisciplinary Master’s course at the University of St.Gallen, combining legal studies with an additional education in economics. It specifically prepares students for careers at the intersection of law and economics. The MLE program continues the interdisciplinary education begun at the Bachelor level, focusing on the integration of legal and economic studies.
Objectives of the Master’s Program
Our MLE program offers a combined degree in law and economics, with a particular emphasis on legal, especially corporate law, aspects. This innovative, interdisciplinary education is designed to equip legal professionals with the skills to identify, analyze, and address complex issues in both private and public sectors, leveraging their dual expertise in law and economics.
Working closely with economists, graduates of this program are particularly trained to contribute a uniquely legal perspective to a comprehensive approach to problem-solving. The program focuses on imparting specialized knowledge in law and economics, relevant methodological skills, and fostering an integrated legal-economic mindset that emphasizes holistic problem-solving.
