Vanessa Nakate on Climate Justice

While the huge climate problems the African continent is facing are being often ignored on the global stage, the situation at the Horn of Africa gets grimmer and grimmer. “Climate change is not about the weather or the statistics, it’s about the people.”

Nakate founded the Youth for Future Africa and the likewise African-based Rise Up Movement. She was appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2022 and is one of TIME’s 2023 Earth Award honorees.
