Digital pioneers and innovators are in higher demand than ever. The Master’s programme in Business Innovation (MBI) hones your skills to harness the potential of digital transformation successfully and prepares you to become a reflective intrapreneur or entrepreneur.

The MBI programme equips you for modern careers in the context of digitalisation and value creation and is highly sought after in the job market. Are you tech-savvy and eager to question the status quo, transform the old, and create the new? Do you want to study at HSG in a programme that offers customisation, flexibility, and maximum choice? Then the Master’s programme in Business Innovation is the perfect fit for you.
The MBI programme begins with the “MBI Kick-off” Offsite in calendar week 37, offering four days of shared learning and community building before the semester starts.
The core courses (15 Credits) provide foundational knowledge in Business Innovation:
The elective core area (27-39 Credits) is customisable, offering maximum flexibility. Students can optionally specialise in one of six MBI profiles to deepen expertise in a chosen career path:
(Specialising in a profile by completing 16 credits and the Master’s thesis within the profile will be noted on the transcript.)

Are you fascinated by innovative technologies and processes?
Do you approach change constructively, with passion and enthusiasm?
If you also have a strong drive to shape the future, the MBI programme is the right choice for you. Rather than focusing solely on building and analysing theoretical knowledge, the MBI equips you with practical skills for designing and implementing solutions.
Your curiosity and knowledge should enable you to engage in critical discourse, evaluate concepts, and adapt them independently to specific contexts.
A foundation in research methodology, statistics, mathematics, programming, and business administration will facilitate your entry into the MBI. Additionally, your analytical and communication skills should allow you to view problems from multiple perspectives, enabling you to develop new strategies and drive transformation in organisations through the process of innovation.
Nearly 2,000 MBI alumni form a strong network that extends far beyond the programme itself. From the very beginning of the MBI programme, a unique student representation, the MBI Student Board, was established, shaping the exceptional sense of community both during and after the programme.
For ideas and feedback from a student perspective, feel free to contact the MBI Student Board leadership.
