Conditions of Participation
1. Participation in the Mentoring Programme:
- Mentors and mentees enter into a mentoring relationship based on mutual trust and voluntary participation.
- Participation in the Mentoring Programme and the allocation of a specific person cannot be guaranteed. Allocations are made based on the information provided and the capacities available. No legal claim may be made regarding admission to or allocation within the programme.
- The structure and organisation of the mentoring relationship are the responsibility of the mentors and mentees. The content, goals and frequency of exchange are determined jointly.
- The programme is designed to last two years but may be terminated early in consultation with the programme management.
- The University of St.Gallen reserves the right to exclude participants from the programme without stating reasons.
- The University accepts no liability for the content, decisions or consequences arising from the mentoring relationship.
2. Code of Conduct
Participants undertake to:
- treat personal information and content shared within the mentoring relationship confidentially and not disclose it to third parties;
- interact with one another respectfully, professionally and without discrimination;
- refrain from introducing content or behaviour that may offend, discriminate against or harass others; this applies in particular to sexual, political, religious or belief-related topics and conduct;
- carry out all activities within the framework of the programme without financial compensation or other material benefits.
Any form of personal boundary violation, harassment or abuse of power is prohibited. The Mentoring Programme reserves the right to take appropriate measures in such cases.
3. Data Protection
By registering, participants consent to the processing of their personal data for the purpose of organising, conducting and further developing the Mentoring Programme.
This may also include the use of AI-supported systems to assist with profile analysis and the matching of mentors and mentees. The AI systems serve exclusively as supportive tools; final allocation decisions are made by the programme management.
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data will be treated confidentially and will not be disclosed to unauthorised third parties.
