Inclusive Language Guide

Our Inclusive Language Guide explains the importance of inclusive language and provides practical advice on how best to use equitable and gender-inclusive language. The Guide has been prepared based on the University’s Vision and Code of Conduct and in collaboration with HSG staff and students.

APA Style and Grammar Guidelines – Bias Free Language

APA is the international citation standard in the social sciences and economics. Its motto is “Write with Clarity, Precision, and Inclusion.” Its guidelines on inclusive and respectful language, and on doing justice to all types of diversity, are set out on the APA website and in Chapter 5 of the 7th edition of the APA Manual.
