Research and Teaching on Diversity & Inclusion at the HSG

The Centre for Disability and Integration (CDI-HSG) is an interdisciplinary research centre dedicated to exploring the inclusion of people with disabilities from the perspective of business administration, economics and applied disability research. The insights and knowledge gained are transferred to both university teaching and business practice.

The Competence Centre for Diversity und Inklusion (CCDI) also offers companies consulting and training on anti-racism, equal opportunities, diversity & inclusion, and implicit biases. The CCDI publishes the St.Gallen Diversity Benchmarking, the largest diversity and inclusion report in Switzerland, and organizes the renowned Diversity & Inclusion Week every year.

The Department of Gender & Diversity at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) explores today’s working world and society, which in many areas are organized along gender differences and other differences such as migration background, sexual orientation, ability or age. The department is also home to the university-wide Gender Portal, which presents and links research and teaching from various institutes and departments.

The Research Institute for Organizational Psychology (OPSY-HSG) studies gender and diversity in workplaces and organizational environments. Its “Leaders for Equality: Managers Seize Opportunities” programme supports companies in involving male managers in equal opportunity issues and concerns.

The Institute of Responsible Innovation at the University of St.Gallen is a multidisciplinary platform dedicated to responsible innovation, social entrepreneurship, and grand challenges. The institute contributes to solving responsibly wicked problems related to innovation and entrepreneurship for a better future for humanity. The researchers take the principles of responsible innovation as (1) leveraging scientific research and technological development for humanity and (2) in doing so, taking into account the social, ethical, cultural, and economic impact of innovation.

Various HSG institutes and departments research gender & diversity and offer courses and programmes in this area. They are committed to fostering inclusion within and beyond the University. The Gender Portal showcases these activities, provides networking opportunities and hosts diversity & inclusion events at HSG. The Gender Portal is coordinated by the Department of Gender & Diversity.
