Gender studies with a cultural studies perspective is interdisciplinary and examines the interplay of gender with other social differences in society.
Societal diversity can be interpreted as a potential and a valuable resource; yet it is often accompanied by inequalities.
The Subject Area of Gender and Diversity analyses contemporary society - the world of work, family life and relationships, as well as artistic and cultural artefacts – and investigates how gender, origin, sexual orientation, ability and / or age (to name just a few) are significant in these social spheres.
