Writing is a process that can be learned and continually improved. Our mission therefore is to develop new teaching methods and tailored support for academic writing. We also organise events and workshops on specific writing issues and offer individualised writing guidance.
Our Academic Writing Helpdesk is available for short consultations (about 10-15 minutes) on topics related to academic writing. During the lecture period we have a desk in the entrance area of the library and a counselling room online (via Zoom) on Tuesdays 5-7 p.m..
Dates and the access link to the online counselling room can be found on StudentWeb.
Every semester we offer workshops in German and English on selected writing topics, including correct citation and paraphrasing, developing a research question, or the structure and argumentation of academic texts.

Academic writing is complex and can be developed and continually improved. Coursework, however, often leaves little time to explore, practise and provide feedback on the writing process.
The HSG Writing Lab caters to these needs by providing a range of tailored support: specially designed teaching materials, workshops on specific writing issues and writing coaching for students. Feel free to contact us by email.
