The University of St.Gallen recaptures top spot in FT global ranking

Once again, the University of St.Gallen’s Master in Strategy and International Management is ranked by the FT as the #1 programme globally for the thirteenth time.

The Financial Times annual global ranking of international Master in Management programmes places the University of St.Gallen’s Master in Strategy and International Management programme (SIM-HSG) in the #1 position. This is the thirteenth time HSG has been placed in the top position for the last fourteen years.

Since its inception in 2003, SIM has approached management education with a wholistic approach to leadership. “In order to nurture the next generation of business leaders who will act in an ethical and socially responsible way, we strive to nurture their own sense of personal development and mastery,” said SIM-HSG Managing Director Prof. Dr. Omid Aschari. “Business skills can be taught; leadership qualities must be awoken within the individual.”

With this approach to building leadership capacity, SIM attracts students with a purpose-driven spirit who strive to introduce sustainability into their world view. It also boasts of a close and active global alumni community which intimately interacts with current students. This collaborative method and sense of community allows students, partners and other stakeholders alike to participate in creating measurable impact.

The Financial Times analysis of universities is a respected voice examining academic excellence worldwide. This annual survey of business schools and their alumni, weighs different criteria ranging from salary, alumni network, international work mobility, faculty with doctorates, and aims achieved.

“At HSG, we strive to empower dedicated talents to develop into responsible, entrepreneurial leaders. The SIM programme represents precisely this vision.” said University of St.Gallen President Manuel Ammann.

By maintaining the top spot in this year’s ranking, SIM outperformed over 100 top educational establishments offering Master in Management programmes globally. HEC Paris and newcomer to the ranking, INSEAD, were second and third respectively.
