18 June 2012. The Solar St.Gallen cooperative’s solar cinema will be touring through various quarters of the City of St.Gallen. On two of the eight film evenings, the sun will provide a cinema experience on the campus of the University of St.Gallen. On Monday, 25 June, the film “Little Miss Sunshine” will be shown, while on Tuesday, 26 June, the film “Schwarze Katze, Weisser Kater” will the on the programme. The square in front of the University Restaurant will be the “cinema hall”.

Bring your own chair
The open-air cinema is powered by solar energy: during the day, the batteries will be charged with sunlight; in the evening, a film will be shown. Admission will be free. Since seats may quickly become scarce, the organisers give the following tip: “Bring your own chair!” In bad weather, the shows will take place in the KUGL, where there are sufficient seats and a cosy lounge.

The cinema evenings will start at 8 p.m. with a culinary prelude. At nightfall, just after 9.15 p.m., the film show will start. Further cinema evenings will take place at the Dreilinden family swimming-baths and at Kreuzbleiche.
