5 January 2009. More than 100 political scientists from all over Switzerland will gather for a scientific exchange. The highlight of the Congress will be a public plenary event on the topic of Global Governance with Peter J. Katzenstein, Professor of International Studies at Cornell University, and further reputable researchers from Swiss universities.
The SVPW’s Annual Congress will thus return to St.Gallen for the first time in 38 years. The event is organized by the Institute of Political Sciences (IPW-HSG). In the context of numerous workshops, members of all of Switzerland’s institutes of political science will present and discuss their latest research results and ongoing projects.
Working groups will deal with topics such as European studies, election behavior patterns, the welfare state, international relations and security policy, religion and politics, and the quality of democracy.
