Giving an image to Europe research

The GCE-HSG wants to give an image to research on Europe at the University of St.Gallen, improve the exchange of information on Europe-related activities in teaching, research, consultancy and executive education, and institutionalise networking in a national and international context. The Center is affiliated to the Institute for Systemic Management and Public Governance (IMP-HSG).

The GCE-HSG has already taken initial steps towards the creation of an international network through close cooperation with the New Europe College in Bucharest and the Centre for Advanced Studies in Sofia. The new Center will be funded through the performance agreement with the State Secretariat for Education and Research.

Focus on Eastern Europe

The inauguration of the GCE-HSG and the 2011 Eastern Europe Day will take place on 20 May from 10.15 a.m. in Room 10-101 of the University of St.Gallen. The event is open to the public. The keynote speaker will be Prof. Knut Andreas Grimstad from the University of Oslo. The programme will include various presentations and workshops.
