2 September 2010. The programme is aimed at energy suppliers, technology providers and start-up entrepreneurs, as well as at everyone else who wants to be part of the growth market of renewable energies. It consists of eight one-week modules spread over one and a half years. Successful participants will be awarded a HSG Diploma of Advanced Studies.

Success factors on the market, in politics and in competition
Business models, marketing, strategy and the funding of renewable energies are the focus of this management-oriented programme. Participants will learn how to master political, technological and economic risks successfully. The courses will be given by experienced faculty members of the University of St.Gallen and extramural specialists from the field of renewable energies.

Leaders for the energy growth market
The renewable energy sector offers a wealth of market opportunities. The establishment of a competitive edge in this new industry requires leaders who are familiar with the particular challenges of the renewable energy markets and are able to deal with them successfully. “We can see a great demand for leaders who understand the renewable energy market,” says Prof. Dr. Rolf Wüstenhagen, Holder of the Good Energies Chair for the Management of Renewable Energies at the HSG and the academic director of the new programme.

Swiss Federal Office of Energy supports REM-HSG
Because training decision-makers in the area of management of renewable energies contributes to the achievement of Switzerland's national energy policy objectives, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy supports the development of the new diploma programme (Diploma of Advanced Studies) in Renewable Energy Management (REM-HSG).
