5 December 2011. In this annual ranking, which was published in London today, the Financial Times assesses Europe’s 75 best business universities.
“This gratifying result shows that in spite of growing student numbers and palpable bottlenecks, for instance in infrastructure, we have managed to maintain quality at the University of St.Gallen”, says President Thomas Bieger. “This is the achievement of our dedicated colleagues in academia and Administration. With 12th place, we have come another step closer to our goal, namely a place among the Top Ten in this ranking.” Last year, the HSG had already jumped from 30th to 16th place.
Four individual rankings, one overall ranking
In its annual European Business Schools Ranking, the Financial Times has so far subsumed four individual rankings, which it publishes in the course of the year. To date, the HSG has been ranked in three of them: the ranking of the Master in Management programmes, the ranking of open and customised Executive Education programmes, and the ranking of the best Executive MBA programmes.
Best Master’s programme in Management
Whereas the four individual rankings are open to all the world’s business schools, the annual overall ranking published by the Financial Times today focuses on the best business schools in Europe. Among these, the University of St.Gallen occupies 1st place in this year’s Master in Management ranking, 15th place in the ranking of the Executive Education programmes and 31st place in the Executive MBA ranking.
With these results, the University of St.Gallen is now ranked 12th in the overall ranking, that of the European Business Schools. The top three places are occupied by HEC Paris, followed by Insead (Paris/Singapore/Abu Dhabi) and the London Business School.
