Good grades for executive education

9 May 2011. The University of St.Gallen has thus been able to hold its ground in the fiercely competitive environment of executive education; indeed, it has even improved its position slightly. After being accorded 16th place in 2010, the HSG has climbed one more rung on the European ladder and now occupies 15th place. Europe’s and the world’s Number One in the Executive Education Ranking of the Financial Times is HEC Paris. The ranking, which has been published today, considers open-enrolment and custom executive education programmes. In the field of open enrolment, the HSG has even improved its position by six places and now occupies 12th place in Europe.

“The result shows that we are able to keep abreast of the best business universities in Europe and worldwide. At the same time, the result motivates us to continue to develop and to design innovative programmes which provide our customers with the greatest possible benefit”, says Prof. Dr. Winfried Ruigrok, Academic Director and Dean of the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law of the University ofSt.Gallen (ES-HSG). Together with the HSG institutes, the ES-HSG is responsible for the executive education programmes that were ranked by the business paper.

Four individual rankings – one overall ranking
Ever since 1999, the Financial Times has regularly published rankings in which internationally renowned business schools are compared. The present Executive Education Ranking is one of four rankings by the international business paper, which are spread over the whole year (MBA, Executive MBA, Executive Education and Master's in Management). At the end of every year, the results are consolidated in the European Business School Ranking, where the HSG currently occupies 16th place.
