20 years of IWI-HSG

14 September 2009. More than 350 participants have registered to take part in the conference and the subsequent celebration. "We have been doing results-oriented research of practical relevance and transferring the outcome straight into enterprises for 20 years," said Professor Walter Brenner, the Institute’s Managing Director and one of the five professors involved in teaching, research and executive education in innovative IT fields together with 122 members of staff.

Different cooperations
A great number of research projects in cooperation with Swiss enterprises provide the IWI-HSG with national roots. It has acquired its international recognition in research projects with companies from the entire German-speaking area, but also through joint teaching ventures with the renowned Stanford University in California, through specialist articles in scientific journals worldwide and through the publication of books, one of which was published jointly with the University of Beijing – in Chinese.

Transfer into corporate practice
The transfer of the Institute’s research results into corporate practice is not only effected by the courses taught by IWI-HSG members at the University, but also to a substantial extent by its part-time courses resulting in the degree of an Executive Master in Business Engineering (EMBE) and in an IT Business Manager’s diploma (ITBM).
