The scientific expertise of SHSS members is highly regarded in business, politics and society.
Through the Public Programme, the SHSS offers an audience from outside the university region interesting insights into current research in the cultural sciences, humanities and social sciences.
SHSS researchers are in great demand in the media for their expertise and opinions. We take an independent stand on social debates and make use of our academic freedom by also taking a stand on controversial topics. In this way, the SHSS makes a knowledge-based contribution to the democratic culture of discussion at home and abroad.
The institutes, centers, and chairs of the SHSS cooperate in their specific areas of competence with companies, administrations and non-profit organizations while maintaining their full independence in research and consultancy.
