Yu Sun, PhD Candidate at SCS, inspires as a Finalist at the Digital Economy Awards 2024

On November 14, 2024, the prestigious "NextGen Hero" award was presented at the Digital Economy Award Night in Zurich's Hallenstadion. This year, Yu Sun, a PhD candidate at SCS, participated as a finalist in the Digital Economy Awards.

The award "NextGen Hero" honors young individuals aged 20 to 28 who have the potential to significantly shape the digital future of Switzerland. Nominees are proposed by Swiss educational institutions and evaluated by an expert jury.

Yu Sun impressed the audience with an inspiring pitch in front of more than 1,000 attendees. Her research in the field of Virtual Reality aims to design technologies in a human-centered and meaningful way. Yu Sun seeks to promote a mindful approach to technology and to encourage people to actively participate in shaping the digital future. Through participatory design and innovative approaches, such as her live experiment with a headset on stage, she sets new impulses to advance societal dialogue on the use of technology.
