StartWeek

The StartWeek 2023 takes place from 11 to 15 September.

StartWeek - the beginning of your studies

Since 2001, once a year one week before the start of the academic year, new students have been gathering on the campus of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) for a one-week event known as the StartWeek to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings. The StartWeek is an integral part of the HSG Assessment Year. The overall goal of the StartWeek is to prepare new students in the best possible way for their daily life as a HSG student and their new role at the university.

Case study, administrative integration and new surroundings

During the StartWeek, new students are introduced to scientific work in an academic environment by working on a case study in which they have to solve interdisciplinary problems. In addition to working on a case study, students learn, among other things, about the HSG degree system, the IT infrastructure and the university library. The StartWeek is also a great opportunity for the new students to meet other students and make friendships.

Please check out the Quick Links below to find out what to do next before your programme starts, or for details on your arrival in St. Gallen, the HSG campus life, our digital platforms and IT tools or to get in touch with our counselling services in order to get a consultation on financing your studies, language courses, the Military Liaison Office and Special Needs Advice Center.
