Since 2001, new students have been gathering on the campus of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) the week before the academic year begins for a unique event. The StartWeek is an integral part of the Assessment Year, with the goal of comprehensively preparing new students for life at HSG and their new role at the university.
During the StartWeek, new students are introduced to scientific work in an academic environment by working in a team on a case study to solve interdisciplinary problems. At the same time, students learn about the HSG degree system, the IT infrastructure and the university library. The StartWeek is also a great opportunity for the new students to meet other students and make friendships.

Students completing military service have the option of an abbreviated two-day StartWeek. For further information or to register, please send an email to startwoche@unisg.ch. Cadres earning a promotion starting their studies later in accordance with the agreement with Swiss Universities should notify the Military Liaison Office in order to receive all relevant information.
