Campus Conversation #90 with Saleh Al Abbadie

Saleh Al Abbadie has had an extraordinary journey: from goat herder in Yemen to young adult without a work permit in Switzerland to graduate of the University of St.Gallen.

In this episode, Saleh talks about his childhood in a country that is in many ways the opposite of Switzerland. From an early age, he took responsibility for a herd of goats, and hard work was part of his everyday life. Even after arriving in Switzerland, his path was anything but easy: language barriers, cultural differences and a new education system presented him with major challenges.

"If anyone was doomed to fail, it was me," says Saleh in the interview. But he did not fail. With a lot of perseverance and thanks to the support of committed people, he built his own path.
