With immediate effect, all members of the University of St.Gallen have access to Workspace. Workspace is the successor product to Eikon and is also provided by the London Stock Exchange Group LSEG.
In terms of content, Workspace offers access to the same data universe as Eikon. The software has been reprogrammed from scratch and updated to the latest standards. In addition, there are slight adjustments to the user interface and the color scheme.
Workspace can be accessed in a virtualized environment: https://vdi.unisg.ch. We recommend reading the Virtual Workspace FAQ before a first-time use.
As with Eikon, general access to Workspace is possible from wherever you are, as long as you have access to a web browser and an internet connection. Workspace provides access to the same data universe.
Starting in mid-January, we will be able to assign a limited number of individual Workspace licenses to students, researchers and faculty. These individual licenses will give API access to Workspace data. We will publish further details about this option on our Workspace information page in January.
It was originally planned that we would be able to offer Workspace and Eikon in parallel in December. Unfortunately, due to some difficult communication with LSEG, there were repeated delays, so that we could not implement this as planned. We are aware that the short-term change may cause some disruptions with data retrieval. We deeply regret this.
