Prof. Dr. Marc Linzmajer studied Political and Administrative Science at the University of Konstanz and Corporate Management and Economics at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen. After completing his doctorate in Pricing and Consumer Neuroscience in 2013, he served as a postdoctoral researcher, project manager and later Vice Director at the Institute of Retail Management (IRM-HSG). In early 2022, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Retail Marketing & Service Management with tenure track, before moving to the University of Rostock in 2023 as Head of the Chair of Service Management. Following a competitive appointment process, he has now been elected Senior Lecturer in Retail Marketing and simultaneously appointed as Adjunct Professor.
His research focuses on consumer behaviour as well as pricing, channel and innovation issues in retail and service management. Bringing together marketing, psychology, information systems and data science, he combines experimental, neuroscientific and data-driven methods in his work. His research is regularly published in leading international academic journals. In addition, he has extensive teaching experience at Bachelor's, Master's, PhD and Executive Education level and is recognised for successfully combining academic rigour with strong practical relevance.
Prof. Dr. Marc Linzmajer will join the School of Management and be affiliated with the Institute of Retail Management (IRM-HSG), where, as Director, he will play a key role in shaping the institute’s future development in research, teaching and knowledge transfer.
