Areas of Concentration

The areas of concentration bundle together course offerings from the Humanities and Social Sciences with a clear reference to themes from the core subjects, connecting elements of theory and practice. The following areas of concentration are offered: History, Society, Creativity, Cultures, Media, Law, Technologies, Responsibility – - and a Transversal Area that brings together the perspectives, topics, and methods of the various HSG academic programs (across schools), for example, law and computer science.

To successfully complete Contextual Studies at the Bachelor’s level, students must earn a total of 24 ECTS through courses in the areas of concentration and skills/languages, with at least 12 ECTS coming from the areas of concentration.

To successfully complete Contextual Studies at the Master’s level, a total of 18 ECTS must be earned from courses in the areas of concentration and skills/languages, with at least 12 ECTS coming from the areas of concentration.
