The School of Economics and Political Science (SEPS-HSG) congratulates Dr Julian Eckl on receiving the 2026 Political Science Teaching Award, presented by the German Political Science Association (DVPW) and the Schader Foundation. The annual award recognises outstanding achievements in political science teaching and highlights innovative approaches to higher education.
Julian Eckl received the award for his teaching project "Games and World Politics", which was offered for the first time at the University of St.Gallen during the 2025/26 winter semester. The course introduces students to theories of international relations through board games, combining hands-on experience with academic reflection. This innovative teaching format enables students to engage with complex questions of world politics in an interactive and memorable way.
