Master in Economics (MEcon)
With a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of St.Gallen, you can enrol in the Master's programme in Economics (MEcon) at HSG without additional admission requirements. The MEcon provides comprehensive training in economics based on core areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. It equips you with the tools needed to analyse economic policy issues using the most modern methods and to develop solutions.
Master in Quantitative Economics and Finance (MiQE/F)
The Master’s programme in Quantitative Economics and Finance (MiQE/F) is also open to you with a Bachelor's degree in Economics. The MiQE/F offers high-level training in econometrics, quantitative methods, economics, and finance. This programme enables you to analyse and solve complex problems in economic policy, finance, and business by combining quantitative methods with theoretical foundations in economics and finance.
All MiQE/F applicants, including HSG graduates, are subject to a selection process. More information about the selection process and admission requirements for the MiQE/F can be found here. The application deadline for the MiQE/F is 30 April.
Data Science is an interdisciplinary field focused on extracting insights from (usually very large) datasets. Wherever data is generated or collected, there is work for data scientists. By gathering, cleaning, and analysing data, they uncover insights that lead to better decision-making and problem-solving. Key application areas include healthcare, finance, marketing, and business data analysis in general.
Data scientists who also have a good understanding of economics, especially business administration, can make more accurate interpretations of business data. This increases the value that data scientists from the University of St.Gallen can bring to companies.

The Economics Career Evening is an exclusive event for students of economics programmes at the University of St.Gallen. At this event, students have the opportunity to get in touch with company representatives from various sectors and find out more about the companies and internships or entry-level opportunities.
The Career & Corporate Services (CSC-HSG) experts support students in the various phases of their career planning - through individual interview training, CV optimisation or numerous workshops and other career events. They also help students with specific information on work permit regulations in Switzerland for their respective nationality.
During the HSG Banking Days, the most renowned banks visit the HSG campus to give presentations, organise workshops, offer networking events, and hold assessment centres. MEcon students are a favourite target for recruiters.
The HSG Talents provides students of the University of St.Gallen with the unique possibility of getting to know representatives from over 100 companies through different events. In addition, it allows the students to initiate and maintain contacts with potential future employers and thereby provides companies with the opportunity to recruit talented students.
