23 May 2011. In the interview, Torsten Tomczak speaks about issues such as the importance of the Swiss National Fund for research at the HSG, the promotion of young researchers, and international competition in academia, the occasion for this being SNF’s Research Day, which will take place in the Main Building of the University of St.Gallen on 1 June. The current issue of the HSGBlatt also contains four examples of HSG researchers who are working on SNF projects.
Moreover, the HSGBlatt focuses on the 41st St. Gallen Symposium, cooperation with the Federal Administrative Court, which will move to St.Gallen in 2012, and the retirement of Law Professor Philippe Mastronardi. It also presents the new Center of Governance and Culture in Europe (GCE-HSG).
Student involvement in integration issues and on the tennis court rounds off the current edition of the HSGBlatt. Student Isabelle Siegrist works with children with a migration background in order to make integration into Switzerland easier for them. Student David Zogg will be playing for the HSG at the European Tennis Championships. The tournament will take place in St.Gallen for the first time.
