LibKey

Simplifying Your Research Journey

We’re excited to announce the launch of LibKey, a powerful new browser extension designed to enhance your research experience by providing seamless access to our library's licensed content. The LibKey browser extension has been automatically installed on Microsoft Edge running on computers that are centrally managed by the IT department.

What is LibKey?

Outside of HSGswisscovery, it’s not always obvious that members of the University of St.Gallen have access to electronic documents or archives. LibKey is a simple tool that integrates directly with your web browser, showing you immediately whether you have access to the full text of articles, e-books, and journals as you search online.

With the LibKey browser extension, the availability of licensed content is presented on the following websites:

Google Scholar  PubMed
Amazon Wikipedia
Scopus daily newspapers
Web of Science weekly newspapers
Easy Installation and Use:

Setting up LibKey is quick and straightforward.

  1. Download the browser extension, available for Edge, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Vivaldi and Brave. The browser extension has been automatically installed on Microsoft Edge running on computers that are centrally managed by the IT department.
  2. Select “Universität St.Gallen” as your organization and you are all set.

Once installed, the extension works automatically, highlighting content available through the HSG-Library’s subscriptions and providing direct access links—saving you time and effort.

Why Use LibKey?

By simplifying access to scholarly resources, LibKey makes your research process more efficient and less stressful. Whether you’re conducting an in-depth study, preparing for a presentation, or exploring new topics, this tool ensures you spend more time engaging with content and less time searching for it.

You can find additional information on our LibKey information page. Your feedback is much appreciated: if you have any comments, please contact us at elibraryunisg.ch.
