Positive effects for the regional economic and living environment
Every two years, the HSG submits a report on its regional effects. According to the last report, which was published in 2023, the HSG generated five times the value added contribution of 284.2 million Swiss francs from the state contribution in 2021.
Students and participants in continuing education programmes bring an influx of purchasing power of around 68 million Swiss francs to the canton of St.Gallen. This benefits local businesses, SMEs and the tourism industry.
The HSG is a member of 15 local and regional organisations. These include the scientific association Vierländerregion Bodensee, the St.Gallen-Appenzell Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), two St.Gallen neighbourhood associations and the ITrockt association, which proactively addresses the shortage of IT specialists in Eastern Switzerland.
