Coline Proy holds a bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Strasbourg, France, and a master's degree (LLM) in International Human Rights Law from Lund University, Sweden.
Her practical experience ranges from legal research on war crimes during the civil war in Sri Lanka, legal and administrative assistance to domestic migrant workers in Hong Kong, to research and support for the team working on the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW) at the Office for Disarmament Affairs in Geneva. She has also completed a year of civil service with NGOs in France and Taiwan, and undertaken traineeships at the Arctic University of Norway and at PILnet (the Network for Public Interest Law) in Hong Kong. On top of her legal background, Coline holds a bachelor's degree in Chinese Studies from the University of Strasbourg and certifications in Swedish as a foreign language.
After writing her master's thesis on the legal classification of human shields in International Humanitarian Law, Coline continues to explore the limits of civilian protection during armed conflicts. Further interests include sociolegal research, International Human Rights Law, Disarmament and Asian Studies.
