The University of St Gallen (HSG) is creating an 80% Open Science Office position in the Vice-President’s Board Research & Faculty from October 1, 2025 This will be the first point of contact for researchers for all questions relating to open science and research data (metadata, DMP, data storage, preregistra-tion, registered reports, etc). In addition, the Office will establish a network of data stewards within HSG, develop guidelines for the handling of research data and create awareness within academia, but also within the research-related administration for open science and research data management. It coordinates the requirements and concerns of the various stakeholder groups, e.g., research-ers, schools, the library, legal office, those responsible for open access and IT.
The aim is to offer researchers competent support with regard to Open Science and to guarantee the high scientific quality of research at the HSG in the context of increased demands on the robustness of research projects, transparency, findability and re-use of research data.
